Texas -2011 - HB 1672 - Public School Students with Dyslexia
Relating to the education of public school students with dyslexia, the education and training of educators who teach students with dyslexia, and the assessment of students with dyslexia attending an institution of higher education.

AN ACT relating to early education assessment and intervention. Create a new section of KRS Chapter 158 to define “aphasia,” “dyscalculia,” “dysgraphia,” “dyslexia,” “phonemic awareness,” and “scientifically based research”;
Illinois - 2011-2012 - HB 287 - Limits on Grade Retention
Amends the School Code. Creates the Committee on the Retention of Students. Provides that, prior to retention in a grade, a school district must submit the names of all students determined by the school district to not qualify for promotion to the next higher grade and the reason for that determination.
Kansas - 2011-2012 - SB 75 - Dyslexia Screening
The state board of education shall adopt rules and regulations to ensure that students enrolled in public schools are screened or tested to identify those students with reading disabilities, including, but
not limited to, dyslexia.
