New Jersey – 2012-2013 – A3606/S2441 – Professional Development
Requires Department of Education to provide professional development opportunities related to reading disabilities; mandates certain school district personnel annually compete two hours of professional development related to reading disabilities.
New Jersey - 2012-2013 - S2439 / A3608 - Definition of Dyslexia
Directs State Board of Education to incorporate the International Dyslexia Association’s definition of dyslexia into special education regulations. Defines dyslexia as “a specific learning disability that is neurological in origin.
New Jersey - 2012-2013 - A3605/S2442 - Dyslexia Screening
Requires all public school kindergarten students to be screened for dyslexia and other reading disabilities.
New Jersey - 2012-2013 - AR 129/SR 91 - Dyslexia Teacher Certificate
This resolution urges the State Board of Education to develop an endorsement to the instructional certificate for teachers of students with dyslexia and to establish eligibility and training requirements for the endorsement.
New Jersey 2010-2011 AB 811 Dyslexia Awareness Instruction
Provides for instruction in dyslexia awareness and methods of teaching students with dyslexia for candidates for teaching certificates and current teachers and paraprofessionals.

Establishes New Jersey Reading Disabilities Task Force, providing:
